Seasonal tyres: summer tyres and winter tyres
One of the most common reasons that people choose to change their tyres is to make sure that their tyres don’t lose grip during the winter months. When there is snow and ice on the road regular tyres wont grip as they should. This can very easily result in a crash. That is why we offer our seasonal tyres that are specifically designed for different weather conditions. If you feel that your car is unsafe in severe weather you should have seasonal tyres fitted to ensure your safety and make your car a more enjoyable place to be during the winter months.
All season tyres
All season tyres are also a popular choice when it comes to tyres for your car. They offer effective grip in warm climates and wont slip. They also don’t stiffen up in the cold the same way that summer tyres do. This means that they are safe to use year-round as long as the weather is not too extreme. If you would like a tyre option that is convenient and can be used effectively every month of the year, then all season tyres are the perfect choice for you. Run flat tyres
Your car may already be fitted with run flat tyres. They are usually fitted to higher specification cars as they are generally more expensive that 'standard' tyres adue to the extra engineering in reinforcing the interior wall of the tyre. So what is the advantage of choosing a run flat tyre? The main benefit is safety - should you experience a puncture whilst driving you will be able to drive longer and the tyre won't disintegrate in the same way as a traditional tyre would - especially if driving at speed. Clearly when you become aware of a puncture you should slow down immediately but with a run flat tyre you have may be able to drive slowly to more convenient place to get your tyre fixed. These are an excellent choice for drivers who spend a lot of time driving on motorways due to the safety features of these tyres.
4x4 tyres and reinforced tyres
Both these tyre types are primarily designed for larger 'working vehicles'. Special 4x4 tyres are as the name implies designed to help all 4 wheels gain maximum traction with the ground. So ideal for off-road usage due to the special tread patterns which give maximum grip on softer, muddier ground or steep hills. For larger vehicles which are frequently carting large, heavy loads reinforced tyres will last much longer as they can cope better with the higher pressure they are put under due to the extra weight therefore assist with the handling of the vehicle
